Bricked	Broken device which is about as useful as a brick	When used in reference to consumer electronics, "brick" describes a device that cannot function in any capacity (such as a device with damaged firmware). This usage derives from the fact that some electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) are vaguely brick-shaped, and so those which do not function are useful only as actual bricks. The term can also be used as a verb. For example, "I bricked my MP3 player when I tried to modify its firmware." • ADAMs ship with an upgrade. BSOD	Blue Screen of Death	The infamous “Blue Screen Of Death” is the STOP Error or bug check screen of the expensive, closed, proprietary, unreliable, insecure, and inferior MS Windows operating systems. A BSOD is an indication that something has gone seriously wrong with your Windows computer – a fatal system error, ie: a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to crash. Normally white text is displayed on a blue background, hence the common name (illustrated left – click to enlarge). • ADAM is based on the free, open source, community-developed, reliable, secure and superior Linux operating system, and so should not be plagued by the BSOD.
